1830 Capped Bust Half Dime .8924 Silver, VF+ Features -Holed -US Early R- 4.5

1830 Capped Bust Half Dime – .8924 Silver, VF Details, Holed 1830 Capped Bust half dime, an early United States silver issue struck in .8924 fine silver nearly 200 years ago at the Philadelphia Mint. The coin shows honest circulation wear with Very Fine-level detail: Liberty’s cap, curls and the stars remain clear, and the eagle, shield and lettering on the reverse are well defined. Please note the coin has been holed at the top (around 1 o’clock), as was commonly done in the period to wear coins as jewelry. Rarity 4.5 — PCGS estimates only about 2,250 survivors of this date. An affordable way to own a piece of early Federal silver; priced for the hole.

About the series: The Capped Bust half dollar was designed by Mint engraver John Reich and struck from 1807 to 1839. Until 1836 the edge was lettered by hand-fed machinery with “FIFTY CENTS OR HALF A DOLLAR.” Because the Mint struck no silver dollars after 1804, the half dollar was the largest U.S. silver coin in everyday use during this period, and banks moved them in huge quantities.

BOURNE2TREASURE
WHO WE ARE Bourne2Treasure is a family-owned business based in Dayton, TN, proud to be celebrating our 25th year in operation. Along the way we’ve earned over 27,000 pieces of feedback as a seller.
SHIPPING Every coin we sell ships in protective packaging — no exceptions. The exact container depends on the shipping class: for example, our Standard Envelope option is limited to a maximum of 1/4" thickness, so a bubble mailer isn’t used there. Instead, coins travel in a vinyl flip, a thick baggie, or a cardboard flip, whichever best protects that particular coin. We ship daily, Monday through Friday, excluding all USPS holidays.
RETURNS / GUARANTEE We maintain (unless otherwise noted on items like bullion) a 30-day, FREE-to-you return policy. All we want is happy customers — if you don’t like what we send, just send it back, free of charge.
QUESTIONS? CONTACT US Contact us Monday–Friday, 9–5 EST, with any questions or concerns. Our number one goal is happy customers who buy from us time and time again. If you ever have an issue, please let us know — and remember, our return policy above has you covered.
GRADING DISCLAIMER We arrive at an approximate grade using a combination of our own years of experience and, increasingly, Artificial Intelligence (AI). We are not a professional grading service, and any grade shown is only an approximation — please make your own determination based on the photos provided.
