Offered here is a cast 1 cash coin of the Qianlong Emperor (reigned 1736-1795), Qing dynasty, China. The obverse reads Qian Long Tong Bao (乾隆通寶), read top, bottom, right, left. The reverse carries the Manchu mint mark: Boo ("treasury") on the left and the mint name on the right. The mint name is not attributed in this listing.
Grade: Fine to Very Fine (F-VF). All four obverse characters and both Manchu words are complete and readable, with a full, raised rim on both sides.
Condition, please read: the fields carry a crusty green-brown surface deposit (old corrosion) that softens the character edges in places, and the rims show small dark and reddish spots. There are two smooth, flat brown patches in the reverse field above and below the hole where the crust is absent. The flan is slightly out of round with a small irregularity on the edge, and the square hole is a little uneven, typical of hand-finished cast coins. Please see all the photos, which are the best description.
Ruler: Qianlong (1736-1795)
Denomination: 1 cash (wen)
Composition: brass/copper alloy (in appearance, not tested)
Diameter: 25.3 mm
Weight: 3.15 g
Condition: ungraded, raw coin
The approximate grade is our opinion only. THE COIN SHOWN IS THE EXACT COIN YOU WILL RECEIVE.
