The \u003cstrong\u003eS mint mark\u003c\/strong\u003e is at the right of the obverse, below the sun's rays.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe obverse shows the Statue of Liberty with the sun rising behind her over the New York skyline and an arriving ship. The reverse shows an immigrant family on the dock looking toward the city, with the inscription \u003cstrong\u003eA NATION OF IMMIGRANTS\u003c\/strong\u003e. It was the next commemorative half dollar after the 1982 George Washington half.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003ePresentation:\u003c\/strong\u003e the coin comes in its original US Mint capsule, in the blue velvet \"United States Liberty Coin\" presentation box with the red, white and blue ribbon and the silver lid insert. Only the items shown in the photos are included; no certificate of authenticity is pictured.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eCondition:\u003c\/strong\u003e a raw (ungraded) proof with frosted devices against mirror fields on both sides, a strong cameo look. No marks or spots were seen on the coin through the capsule in the photos. The box shows light age and handling wear: some scuffing and rubbing on the lid and the underside of the box, and small worn spots on the edges of the box base.
