This 1967 Washington quarter has a clear straight clip at about 4–5 o’clock on the obverse, just below the 7 of the date (about 1–2 o’clock on the reverse).\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDirectly opposite the clip, the rim is weak on the reverse. This is called the Blakesley effect, and it is a good sign of a genuine clip rather than later damage.
